Epoxy kit count and unit price: how many kits a project needs
Epoxy is sold in kits of a fixed size: the resin and the hardener together make the kit volume printed on the box. Kits cannot be bought in fractions, so divide the volume you need by the kit volume and round up. Needing 3 US gallons with 1.5 gallon kits is 3 ÷ 1.5 = 2 kits exactly; needing 3.2 gallons is 3 kits, with 1.3 gallons left over.
The cost of the project is the number of kits times the price of one. The unit price is the kit price divided by the kit volume, and it is the fair way to compare kits of different sizes: a 32 oz kit at $50 is $1.56 per ounce, while a larger kit usually costs less per ounce.

Limits: the result is arithmetic on the numbers you type. It does not know prices, taxes or shipping, and it does not recommend a product. If the leftover is very small, a spill or a thirsty board can use it up, so the calculator warns when less than 5 percent is spare.
